Overview 

Unifi, North America’s largest provider of ground handling and aviation services, employs over 35,000 people across four countries. With a constantly growing and distributed workforce, Unifi needed a platform that could evolve with them—one that offered both operational control and workforce engagement.


Challenge 

Before partnering with OnTheJob, Unifi relied on a different platform to manage its frontline operations. However, the system lacked the flexibility to adapt to the company’s scale and dynamic needs. Employees faced fragmented experiences, needing to toggle between multiple systems to view critical work information such as shifts, punches, and PTO. The platform also lacked one-on-one chat capabilities, limiting real-time communication and placing a heavy coordination burden on frontline managers. Additionally, the user interface proved to be unintuitive for hourly workers, reducing adoption and usability across the board.

 OnTheJob provided Unifi with a unified, mobile-first platform tailored for large, distributed teams. Key improvements included:

●      Customization at Scale: The platform was tailored to Unifi’s specific needs, including the integration of their rewards program and custom engagement workflows.


Results 

Since implementing OnTheJob, Unifi has achieved:

●      90% adoption across 4 countries

●      Significant reduction in manager administrative workload with easy access to communicate with all employees.

●      Increased employee engagement through real-time communication and recognition. Over 1500 appreciation notes shared and employees recognised on the platform.

●      Improved visibility and access to operational data for frontline staff with over 15 external organizational links visible on a single platform.
